LGBTQ week in full swing

By: Regina Wright ~Staff Writer~ Xavier LGBTQ Alliance handed out T-shirts bearing the words “Love is Love” on April 13, kicking off the group’s annual week of awareness for the LGBTQ community. The week, which runs April l3 to 17 with a host of events, also includes the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s Day of Silence. Activist addresses gender identity and LGBTQIA issues

By: Max Bruns ~Staff Writer~ Transgender activist for the LGBTQIA community, JAC Stringer, brought a dialogue of acceptance to Xavier. At 8 p.m. on Feb. 23 in the Kennedy Auditorium, Stringer gave a presentation on gender identity and flexibility. Stringer, who is also known as Midwest GenderQueer, has been vocal about equal rights his entire life. Xavier Alliance debuts “The Normal Heart”

By: Aiyana Moore ~Guest Writer~ Xavier LGBTQ Alliance partnered with Student Activities Council (SAC) to show the 2014 movie version of “The Normal Heart,” starring Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch and Jim Parsons, on Sept. 22.
