Men’s soccer falls short

By: Kyle Isaacs The Musketeers fell to rival Butler University on Friday night by a final score of 2-1, then lost last night to the Bulldogs 1-0 at home in the first round of the Big East Tournament. The Friday night loss pushed the Musketeers’ record to 10-6-2 overall with a 6-3 record in the Big East. The defeat also caused Xavier to fall in the conference standings, the team with the third seed in the Big East Tournament. XUXC runs well in Big East race

By: Chris Behler The Xavier men and women’s cross country teams have shown adaptability this season. With a conference consisting of new teams to compete with in the newly formed Big East, these two squads have had to adjust to some inevitable adversity with a higher set of expectations going forward. They have not disappointed. Last weekend the women took fifth place at the Big East Championship. This feat was a difficult one to achieve, considering the talented competition including No. 3 Georgetown, No. 4 Providence, No. 7 Butler and Villanova.
