Men’s basketball falls short in thrilling overtime Sweet 16 game

By: Danny O’Malley There hasn’t been a game in March as wild, stressful and surprising as the Sweet 16 game between Xavier and Kansas State. Xavier lost the game 101-96 in double overtime. Four players in the game — junior Jordan Crawford and sophomore Terrell Holloway for Xavier and Denis Clemente and Jacob Pullen for Kansas State — scored a total of 110 points in the double-overtime Xavier loss. The leading scorer for Xavier was Crawford who put up 32 points, but he also added two rebounds and two assists. XU women’s soccer sees mixed results

By: Danny O’Malley The Xavier women’s soccer record fell to 8-5-1 after losing 2-1 to Villanova and 3-0 against Marquette, then beating Seton Hall 2-1 last week. The team’s conference record now stands at 1-4 with four more conference games before the season ends. In the first game against Villanova, Xavier’s only goal of the game was scored by sophomore midfielder Catherine Allon with junior midfielder Taylor Dearbaugh gathering the assist. Senior midfielder Mariah Whitaker put two shots on goal while freshman forward Tori Doss got one on goal.
