Swimming takes third place at Cleveland State

By: Kyle Isaacs Prior to heading home for Thanksgiving break, the Xavier men’s and women’s swimming teams headed north to Cleveland to compete in the Cleveland State Magnus Cup. Both teams finished third place in the two-day event with a field of six teams. The men’s team tallied 1,052.5 points while the women’s side finished with 1,148 points. The meet was the final team event of the fall semester, with a few individual swimmers moving on to the USA Short Course Nationals this week in Knoxville, Tenn. Men’s soccer falls short

By: Kyle Isaacs The Musketeers fell to rival Butler University on Friday night by a final score of 2-1, then lost last night to the Bulldogs 1-0 at home in the first round of the Big East Tournament. The Friday night loss pushed the Musketeers’ record to 10-6-2 overall with a 6-3 record in the Big East. The defeat also caused Xavier to fall in the conference standings, the team with the third seed in the Big East Tournament. Musketeers win opener

By: Nikhil Jelaji The Xavier women’s basketball team picked up a 70-65 exhibition victory over Division II University of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon at Cintas Center. Four Musketeers scored in double digits. Xavier has gotten the best of the University of Indianapolis, winning four out of their last five meetings, including a 67-51 victory during the 2012-13 season. The two teams have met in three exhibition games and a pair of regular season games.
