Fans get glimpse of season to come

By: Adam Tortelli ~Staff Writer~ Xavier men’s basketball unofficially began play this past weekend in an exhibition that quickly turned into a 102-68 win over the Division-II Northwood Timberwolves. The grind-it-out process quickly brought the Musketeers to a 6-0 lead over the Timberwolves that would transform into a double-figure lead at 17-7. Each player that came onto the floor helped extend the lead and excite fans. Senior center Matt Stainbrook led the Musketeers with 16 points and tied junior forward James Farr with seven rebounds. Insiders look: Men’s basketball team takes a trip to Brazil

By: Matt Stainbrook ~Guest Writer~ The Xavier men’s basketball team traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this summer in early August to compete in four exhibition games against local Brazilian clubs, take a part in a three-credit hour course and enjoy some sightseeing around the country. The team finished a perfect 4-0 on the trip, starting with a 99-68 win over Flamengo, in which a strong second half propeled Xavier to an overwhelming win.
