NYC fall fashions strut new trends

By: Riley Head ~Staff Writer~   New York Fashion Week kicked off its 75th year on Sept. 8, marking the beginning of nine days packed with 151 fashion shows as well as pop-up shops, after-parties and street style. Models of the moment, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, are expected to dominate the week, performing in a multitude of shows. MTV VMAs recognizes standouts

By: Zenab Saeed ~Staff Writer~ MTV aired its Video Music Awards (VMAs) show on Aug. 28, which has taken place annually since 1984. The awards show, held in Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden this year, included the presentation of many Moonman awards and several notable performances. Although there was no single specific host, presenters were featured to introduce performances and announce awards throughout the show. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps introduced rapper Future’s performance, and Olympic gymnasts Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Aly Raisman presented the award for Best Female Video to Beyoncé for her “Hold Up” video. The loss of these stars is certainly a staggering blow to the artistic community.
