Sustainability Committee works to make university more eco-friendly

By: Lydia Rogers As part of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), Xavier University created the Sustainability Committee, in which a cross-section of the campus community has dedicated itself to achieving climate neutrality. Since March 2008, the committee has been implementing the Campus Sustainability Plan, which has been submitted to the ACUPCC. In recent years, the committee has made great strides toward reaching their sustainability goals. Xavier hosts All Honors Day

By: Lydia Rogers Xavier hosted the 21st annual All Honors Day program on April 20. Over 300 students were recognized for their academic, athletic and leadership excellence. The day’s events took place on various campus locations where family and friends were able to celebrate Xavier students’ achievements. The program kicked off with its first event, the Academic Honors Convocation at 9 a.m. in the James and Caroline Duff Banquet Center in Cintas Center. “This year, 81 awards from all subject matters were given to over 140 students for their academic achievement,” Director of Events Kelly King said. The awards presented included the Kramer-Miller Mathematics Award, the VJ Bieliauskas Psychology Award and the Nursing Mission Award.
