No. 17 Xavier rode a solid defensive effort to a 80-73 win over Creighton at the Cintas Center on Saturday afternoon, overcoming a five-point halftime deficit. Xavier initially looked like hungry and eager to forget Wednesday’s loss to Villanova. After junior forward Jerome Hunter’s dunk was blocked, sophomore guard Colby Jones got a steal in the backcourt and found Hunter, who was fouled and knocked down two free throws. Xavier celebrates Muskie Awards

By: Mike Clark ~Staff Writer~ The third annual Muskies Awards showcased the best of Xavier’s students, advisors and student-led organizations during the 2013-14 school year.   The Muskies, which were held on March 26, gave many great awards to students and organizations this year. Among those awards were seven individual awards and 10 organization awards.   The voting process included a nomination by faculty, staff and students for any student or organization they thought were deserving of the award described. XU men’s soccer falters in opener

By: Danny O’Malley The Xavier men’s soccer team opened their regular season with two close losses. In the season opener against Furman University, the team lost in double overtime by a score of 4-3. In the following game, the team lost a defensive battle against the College of Charleston 1-0. Redshirt junior midfielder Will Walker and his brother, senior midfielder Matt Walker, both made a big impact for the Musketeers in the matchup.
