Winter Weather

Both the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Public Schools closed their doors on account of cold weather Jan. 27 and 28. Temperatures dropped below zero, notwithstanding wind chill. Xavier stayed open with only minor delays on Jan. 23 and Jan. 28. The decision for calling a snow day is a joint process involving Provost Scott Chadwick, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Beth Amyot, Physical Plant and Xavier University Police Department. The decision involves safety conditions on campus and in Greater Cincinnati. Student Government Association and Office of the Provost present “Light the Campus”

By: Saunta Anderson It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and for the first time, students are invited to help decorate Xavier’s campus for the holiday season. The Xavier community, including students, staff and faculty, are encouraged to attend “Light the Campus,” presented by the Office of the Provost and Student Government Association (SGA). The decorating event will begin at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday on the Xavier Yard. Afterwards, there will be a lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. outside Bellarmine Chapel.
