Ivy Banks, Vice President for the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion, spoke with the Senate about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Banks is currently working on the strategic plan and hopes to align it with the student voice. The four Senate vacancies have been filled by Austin Parkes, Jojo Reeves, Coniah Zoogah and Eric Dipietro.  Sen. SGA Updates 2/17/22

By Chloe Salveson, the Blobcast Show Manager Sen. Shontelle Johnson, Committee Chair of the Students’ Rights Committee, aims to highlight the struggles students with disabilities face on campus. Johnson, alongside her committee, met with Director of the Community Building Institute Liz Blume regarding parking and walkway accessibility for students with disabilities, specifically during inclement weather and game days. Johnson noted the need for signage toward accessible parking spaces, the need for clearer pathways from the handicapped parking spots to the buildings and the possibility of utilizing the Norwood Plaza parking lots as opposed to removing residents from their parking spaces.  … Continue reading SGA Updates 2/17/22

SGA Notes

Courtesy of Chloe Salveson Senior Director of Auxiliary Services Bill Moran spoke with the Senate about changing the Hoff Dining Commons’ allergens station. The plan is to create a station to avoid gluten and to have specialized mobile ordering to accommodate the other seven major allergens.  This shift is expected to take place after Spring Break. The Caf will be further renovated this summer as well. Moran also noted that the Health United Building turnstiles will be repaired later this spring.
