Xavier falls to Marquette, reducing their chances of March Madness

Written By: Jake Geiger, Staff Writer Xavier ended their regular season campaign in a disappointing fashion, falling to the Marquette Golden Eagles 66-59 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. With its win, Marquette improved to 13-13 and 8-11 in the Big East, while Xavier fell to 13-7 and 6-7 in the Big East. The Musketeers are now at risk of missing March Madness, according to several bracketologists.  Xavier adjusted the starting lineup on Saturday, inserting freshman wing C.J. Wilcher for senior forward Jason Carter. Men’s basketball schedule released

By: Adam Purvis ~Staff Writer~ After another run into the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, Xavier’s men’s basketball team was able to release the rest of its schedule today after the Big East released the conference schedule. Home highlights include the Crosstown Shootout on Dec. 12 against Cincinnati, the first home conference game against Butler on Jan. 2 and a match-up on Feb. 24 against a Villanova team that should be highly ranked. The Musketeers will start conference play with a New Year’s Eve game at Villanova.
