Career Services hosts Fall Career Fair events

By: Gina Carfagno

Students of all majors looking for internships or post-graduation jobs are invited to Xavier’s Career Services Center’s Fall Career Fair

This year’s fair will host 120 different employers from 3 – 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 in Cintas Center, including big names like Procter & Gamble Co. and Coca-Cola. A full list of employers attending the fair is posted online.

The Career Services Center hosts the fair so students and alumni who are searching for jobs and graduate schools to apply to may interact and network with businesses, groups and schools.

In the week leading up to the Fall Career Fair, the Career Services Center will also host several events to help students feel prepared for encounters with these companies, as well as extra networking opportunities.

These events include a resume writing workshop, a discussion on how to approach companies and schools at the fair and walkin sessions with Fifth-Third Bank, Talbert House, Kroger, Nielsen and TERA. Times and dates for these and other events are on the Career Services webpage.

These events, as well as the fair, are open to students of all years and majors, with no pre-registration required. Students, sophomore year and above, who want to learn more about the Career Services mentorship program are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions taking place this week.

Attendance at one of these sessions is mandatory for students interested in getting involved with the mentorship program.

Students can check into the fair at the south entrance of Cintas Center next to the ticket office, the same entrance used for basketball games.

Those attending should be sure to dress professionally for the occasion. Candidates need to bring their ALL Card, multiple copies of their resume and a padfolio to hold them.

For more information on the events leading up to the fair and the Fall Career Fair itself, contact the Career Services Center.
