Two Israeli soldiers killed, two injured in stabbings
An Israeli soldier was stabbed and killed in Tel Aviv in the first of four stabbings of Israeli soldiers on Nov. 10. One of the three other soldiers was a 24-year-old woman who also died of her wounds. Israeli police officials are calling the attackers “terrorists.” These incidents come amidst lingering tension between Israelis and Palestinians and growing conflict between Fatah and Hamas, two Palestinian factions that control the West Bank and Gaza, respectively.

Small plane crash in the Bahamas kills nine people
A small jet crashed in Freeport on the island of Grand Bahama on Nov. 9, killing all nine people on board. One of the crash victims was prominent Bahamian pastor Myles Munroe. The plane is believed to have crashed after hitting a crane in the Freeport Ship Yard and falling into a nearby junkyard. The Royal Bahamas Police Force is currently conducting an investigation.

School in Nigeria bombed
At least 46 students were killed after a bomb went off in a boys’ school in the Nigerian town of Potiskum. Officials think that a man dressed as a student entered the school and detonated a bomb. Officials also think that the man is affiliated with terrorist organization Boko Haram, the group that kidnapped several hundred girls. Boko Haram has been known to target school children in past attacks.

Obama visits Asian countries
President Obama is shifiting his focus to foreign policy with a trip to Asia after a disappointing midterm election for the Democrats. Obama will travel to China and Myanmar as well as Australia. The president will attend three different summits with world leaders that will include discussions on trade, foreign policy and relations with Russia.
