The beginning of the spring semester also marks the start of renewed opportunities to get involved on campus and abroad. The Spring Involvement Fair takes place on Jan. 21. Xavier currently has over 160 school clubs and organizations seeking new members.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m inside Gallagher Student Center (GSC). Club sports, faithbased clubs, volunteer clubs, resume-building clubs and many other interest groups will be featured at the fair. Students trying
to get involved on campus are encouraged to attend.
The Spring Study Abroad Fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the GSC. The fair will feature Xavier’s faculty-led and Brueggeman Fellows
programs as well as 12 third-party providers.
Students seeking information are welcome to come and speak with representatives. There are a variety of study abroad programs ranging from 10-day to full semester long periods at a variety of locations around the globe.
Among the 12 third-party programs are three other Jesuit universities looking to help students complete some of their Xavier careers abroad.
Third-party programs affiliated with Xavier makes a wide range of options available to students who are looking for a more independent study abroad. Those who would rather take courses abroad with fellow Xavier students should speak with faculty and representatives at the fair.
New to this semester’s fair is a raffle. Students will complete a registration form at the Center for International Education table during the fair.
The winners will be drawn during International Coffee Hour at 3:30 p.m. that day. Prizes are supplied by study abroad program providers.
Xavier Education Abroad will also sponsor the International Coffee Hour, directly following the fair. International Coffee Hour is a way for Xavier students to learn about different cultures while enjoying free food. This takes place every Wednesday on the second floor of the GSC. The Xavier deadline for studying abroad in Fall semester 2015 is March 1.
