Labor Day Celebration

Over Labor Day weekend, thousands will gather to watch fireworks blast over the Ohio River. Once again, WEBN is giving us a farewell to summer with their free annual firework show. People have gathered every year since 1976 to see the fireworks in downtown Cincinnati or in Northern Kentucky as they light up the sky. The fireworks are synced to the music played by WEBN (102.7 FM). The fireworks this year are on Sunday, Sept. 4, and the show begins at 9:05 p.m.

Since this is such a fun Cincinnati tradition, Xavier students don’t want to miss out. It’s a perfect free activity to do with a group of friends, and you don’t have to worry about driving or figuring out how to get there because the Student Activities Council (SAC) got you covered.

SAC is busing students down to and from the fireworks. The buses will leave Buenger Circle at 7:30 p.m. and arrive back at campus around 11:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to visit downtown Cincinnati (and avoid the disastrous parking). Be sure to get there early, as SAC is only taking 300 students on a first-come, first-served basis. You don’t want to miss out on what’s sure to be a spectacular show.
