Xavier University Police Department (XUPD) has hired seven new police officers for the 2018-2019 school year. Among the seven, there is a new full time officer, one new part-time officer, and five new reserve officers.
Officer Michael Farmer and Officer Salvatore Damiano are XUPD’s new full-time and part-time officers.
Deputy Chief Joseph Han, Lieutenant Todd Campbell, Officer Joseph Eglseder, Officer Sean Earl and Officer Natosha Yankey are XUPD’s new reserve officers.
The Newswire had the opportunity to ask reserve officer Yankey a few questions for students to get to know her.
The following is an edited transcript.
Where are you from?
I’m from Hillsboro, Ohio.
Where did you attend college?
I attended University of Cincinnati.
Why did you want to be a police officer?
I wanted to provide a sense of security for others within the community. I also like the variety of never knowing what my day may be like.
Why did you choose to work at Xavier?
Working at a campus allows me to provide teaching opportunities to students on how to be safe and secure within the campus.
What do you like about working at Xavier?
Well, I have not yet started my shift there, but my hopes are enjoying the campus policing.
What are your hobbies?
Crafts, baking (and) hiking.

I love to travel to different beaches.
