October 12 Student Government Association Meeting Recap

COURTESY OF CHLOE SALVESON
  • Students Cameron Lakes, Sierra Stennis, and Adriana Smith voiced their immediate concerns regarding people of color at Xavier. Some concerns included lack of certain financial materials, lack of resources, microaggressions in the classroom, engagement of students on campus, and the need for improvement in advising and administration relationships.
  • The motion to alter the SGA Constitution has been tabled. More information to come.
  • The Academic Affairs Committee, led by Sen. Ryan Machesky, plans to release surveys regarding Xavier’s response to COVID-19 and hybrid/online class structure Monday on the EngageXU app.
  • SGA encourages students to run for Senate in order to increase representation, participation, and transparency. Students’ voices have the ability to guide SGA’s focus on matters meaningful to them and to the university as a whole.
