Newswire Note

Where are the papers

You asked we answered

A note from Newswire

You may have noticed something is missing.  There are no Newswires on the coffee tables in Gallagher or covering tables in the Caf.  The bins in Alter and Brockman are empty.  No — you’re not missing Newswire.  It’s in your inbox.

This year, after 107 years of publishing your student newspaper on newsprint, Newswire has gone all-digital.  From now on, every Wednesday morning, Newswire will be delivered to your xavier.edu email address where you’ll enjoy the same coverage you’ve come to rely on — only on your screen and always there when you want to read it.  While the decision to move to a digital format was triggered by our outside printer’s decision to leave the business, this is the way journalism has been trending.  Our guess is you’re already used to reading the news on your phone or laptop.

Please let us know how we’re doing.  Are we writing stories you want to read? Are we missing something you’d like to see? And don’t forget we are now a multi-media organization with several podcasts under development and four regular radio programs on XUFM.  There are plenty of opportunities for you to read or listen to what’s happening on campus as well as become a member of our staff.  Give us a call.
