Katy Perry plans to fly higher than any “Firework” has ever been as she prepares to launch into space on April 14.
Blue Origin, a private space company owned by Jeff Bezos, announced that a mission was in the works. Perry is not the only big name flying high as undertake this adventure alongside with CBS Morning host Gayle King and Bezos’ wife, Lauren Sánchez among others.
Perry is really putting women into “WOMEN’S WORLD” as she takes part in the first-ever all-women crew flying into space. These women will be making history, and Perry may even make her own history as her fellow crewmates keep encouraging her to perform in space.
This journey is not “365” minutes. Instead, it is expected to be roughly 11 minutes. During this short trip, the members will be “Wide Awake” and will experience many people’s
“Teenage Dream,” the ability to feel weightless. Who knows, maybe Perry will give a private concert to her fellow crewmates and whatever extraterrestrial life is up there. Perry may even surprise us with a revamped music video. Imagine a remake of the “Dark Horse” music video… in space? And “E.T.” will finally be blessed with the Perry’s Vocals.
Although this spaceship is not “Electric,” it is reusable, and the only byproduct released by this vehicle is water vapor. In this spaceship, crewmates will never find themselves being “Hot N Cold” as the crew capsule is climate controlled.
As if the thought of launching into space was not scary enough, hearing the “Roar” of the spaceship blasting off is sure to cause some nerves, not to mention the vehicle will be flying fully autonomously. No pilots will be on the ship.

Perry has often used space themes in her songs. Her “Wide Awake” music video was based off of Aliens, and “Firework” is about, well, fireworks.
Nerves aside, Perry claims she is to “put the ‘*ss’ in astronaut”.” Space is going to finally be glam,” Perry noted. Known for her uniquely beautiful outfits and glowing makeup, Perry plans to be in “full glam” when blasting off into space.
“I wonder if she’s going to keep up the amazing fits in space,” first-year psychology major Carly Parret said.
As the big day gets closer, the crew has been undergoing training with the Blue Origin staffers. Perry and her crew members have been informed on what the flight will feel like, sound like, where the cameras will be in the capsule, how to respond to ground control and even where the oxygen masks are located.
The women have all been fitted into customized flight suits. Perry’s may be covered in so many rhinestones that it is brighter than the sun. Only time will tell.
Each crewmate has a three-pound weight limit on what they are allowed to bring into space. Perry said she plans to bring something with life in it, “to remind us how precious the Earth is.”
If this mission goes well, we may be hearing of a tour by none other than Perry herself, from where… you guessed it, miles away in space.
