A Guide to This Years Halloween Costumes

Once limited to witches and ghouls, Halloween costumes have expanded and are now driven by the media.

While it is sad to mourn the loss of a traditional spooky costume, who doesn’t love a good pop culture reference? We certainly had many moments to inspire us in 2025, so let us take a look at what could be your potential attire for the weekend.

Of course, it’s not truly Halloween unless you throw something together at the very last minute, so let’s start with something simple. If you haven’t heard of the girl group “Katseye,” then you certainly have seen their viral Gap commercial. Throw on your best denim and call it a day.

You may have been staying on top of all the new seasons of your favorite shows this year. Let’s draw some inspiration from those. If your friend group is looking to dress up as a love triangle that refuses to end, Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah might be the ones for you.

All you need is the most indecisive girl ever, a boy who broods like his life depends on it and one who thinks being tan is a personality trait. Additionally, if you are hosting a party, a two-tier dark chocolate cake with a raspberry coulis filling and a mirror glaze on top would make a great party snack.

For those of you who will not be celebrating the holiday in cold temperatures, a “Love Island” themed costume could be your best bet. Who doesn’t like the idea of walking around in only a swimsuit and heels? You can always add the giant, totally unnoticeable microphone around your neck for a finished look.

Let’s stray away from TV shows for now and move on to music artists who have given us some costume ideas, or should I say, their fans. We all know the “Coldplay couple” who made quite the statement across all social media platforms.

A simple, black tank top and a light blue polo create an easy, yet comical costume. Hopefully, you will not get caught attending any events in secret. But if you do, make sure you do not freak out and make it look obvious, because you will end up on camera.

Blue Blob is going as a Labubu for Halloween since they are furry friends.

Another costume idea is to take inspiration from Taylor Swift’s album covers, specifically her newest one, “The Life of a Showgirl.” You will want rhinestones everywhere and maybe throw in some feathers if you want to be a little extra. Just make sure you don’t “girlboss too close to the sun.”

This next costume is geared more toward younger kids, but any adult could pull it off just as well. Labubus seemed to blow up overnight and what a hit it was. Start with any matching top and bottom, preferably in a fuzzy fabric. Otherwise, take a different route and go all gold to be the one and only 24-karat golden Labubu.

The most defining part of this costume is definitely the ears. Add some equally fuzzy bunny ears in the same shade as your shirt and pants. Now you have a complete costume and it might just be the most comfortable one on this list.

Whether you are covered in rhinestones, rocking denim or sporting fuzzy bunny ears, Halloween 2025 proves that creativity is the real costume. There is no wrong way to join the fun. So grab your friends and throw something together, because this year, chaos is the costume.
