President Donald Trump, the man who holds the most important job in the country, uses social media in a blatantly childish fashion.
From AI videos to insults and declaring war there is nothing he will not post. That should simply not be tolerated from the President of the United States.
It is one of the many things that he somehow manages to get exceptions for. Former President Obama was torn apart by right wing media for wearing a tan suit to a press conference; but Trump posting an overtly racist AI generated video of the Obamas portrayed as gorillas is tolerated.
Somehow the story of Trump’s absurd social media use does not end there. Time after time he uses vulgar language to describe incredibly serious occasions.
This past Easter, Trump took to Truth Social and stated “Open the f— strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President Donald J. Trump.”
The closing of the Strait of Hormuz is a real and serious issue for millions of people around the globe, yet Trump sees cussing out Iran on Truth Social as a viable form of foreign policy.
Trump started a war that caused oil prices to skyrocket in a time of already rampant inflation and has no serious intentions of dealing with it. This is a real problem with real world consequences and the president of the U.S. is tweeting about it like Stephen A. Smith posting about the NBA Finals.

Staff writer Ben Jenkins argues the lack of seriousness taken by our president is leading the U.S. down a dark path.
There should never be a world where this an acceptable form communication from any political leader, let alone the U.S. President.
This is something we as a nation have grown accustomed to as long as there has been a Make America Great Again (MAGA) president in office. There has been no accountability held to any of the actions of anyone associated with them.
A 34-time felon even being in consideration for the office was just the beginning. Trump and MAGA have had a historically bad start to his second term. He shamelessly lies about the goals of the campaign, atrocities committed by ICE and poor economic indicators, and yet the MAGA faithful are still very present in politics.
There is no other individual who could get away with the actions that Trump does and there should never be one again. Regardless of party, regardless of views, the president needs to be a good person and maybe, more importantly, take the job seriously.
It is very clear that Trump does and says whatever he pleases, treating the presidency like a game. Donald Trump’s behavior on social media perfectly encapsulates the Republican party. They diminish the dignity of the U.S.
The president should represent professionalism, maturity and leadership, not vulgar outbursts of hate.
This pattern of behavior shows the shift of political standards. What was once regarded as the highest position on the globe is now a joke to most of the world.
The U.S. has the power to do almost whatever they would like in the world, and having that power in the hands of a man who has begun to go off the tracks will end horrifically for millions, if not billions, of people.
The pattern of Trump’s social media use revealed a collapse of accountability within the U.S. government, which will have detrimental impacts on the world.
