Senior film and art showcase to come

By: Jess Larkin ~Copy Editor~ Over the last few weeks, graduating Musketeers have been given the chance to display their work and what they have learned at Xavier. Senior electronic media majors will showcase their yearlong film projects from senior seminar, and the art department will be displaying the last of their senior projects in the coming weeks. Electronic media majors were required to develop a short five to eight minute film over the course of the academic year. Art exhibit highlights Ukrainian culture “Three

By: Lydia Rogers ~Staff Writer~ Ukrainian culture and heritage are currently being highlighted on Xavier’s campus with the “Three Intuitions” photography exhibit. On Jan. 25, Exhibit Co-curators Gregory Rust and Guennadi Maslov teamed up with Cincinnati-Kharkiv Sister-City Partnership to bring the art exhibit to the Gallagher Student Center (GSC). The exhibit showcases photography from three well-known Ukrainian photographers, Andrey Avdeenko, Mstyslav Chernov and Igor Manko, who each portray their perceptions of life in Ukraine. The exhibit demonstrates how modern artists are able to expose various and sometimes contradictory visions of a single subject. Student art exhibition

By: Liz Slocum ~Staff Writer~ An exhibition of the works of art students at Xavier opened for public viewing on Jan. 30. The exhibit is located in the Xavier Art Gallery in the A.B. Cohen Center, and anyone is welcome to view the works on display free of charge. The exhibit, which is done annually at Xavier during the spring semester, includes artwork in many different categories.
