SGA evaluates its fall semester progress

By: Andrew Koch As the semester comes to a close, members of Student Government Association (SGA) evaluate the progress it has made this semester. SGA President junior Drew Dziedzic, Legislative Vice President senior Markus Lasky and Administrative Vice President senior Keenan Collins recently released an update on the progress their administration has made. As part of their goal for improving communication between the administration and students, the Executives created the Xavier Student Weekly email with University Communications that delivers news messages to all students each Monday morning. Student Government Association and Office of the Provost present “Light the Campus”

By: Saunta Anderson It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and for the first time, students are invited to help decorate Xavier’s campus for the holiday season. The Xavier community, including students, staff and faculty, are encouraged to attend “Light the Campus,” presented by the Office of the Provost and Student Government Association (SGA). The decorating event will begin at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday on the Xavier Yard. Afterwards, there will be a lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. outside Bellarmine Chapel. Core revising continues

By: Lauren Young Xavier University’s Ad Hoc Committee for New Core Curriculum Learning Outcomes has created a new core for students. The initial formation of these core curriculum changes has been approved but will be further modified throughout the 2013-14 academic year. This committee was arranged in January with the goal of innovating Xavier’s now 25-year-old core curriculum. In comparison to the other 27 Jesuit universities in the United States, Xavier has kept its core — also one of the largest — in place for the longest amount of time.
