2nd Annual U4U Concert for a Cause

By: Katrina Gross ~Guest Writer~ Xavier University’s chapter of Unified for Uganda (U4U) will be hosting the second annual Concert for a Cause, which U4U club member Jake Haigis describes as, “An end of the year event to showcase the talent within the Xavier community while raising money for the destitute children our chapter of Unified for Uganda sponsors.” Some of the talented performers at this year’s concert are Joe Gladstone, who will perform “Bubble Toes” by Jack Johnson, “Crash Into Me” by Dave Matthews Band” and more, both singing and playing the guitar. Mr. Muskie pageant returns to campus

By: Lauren Young This year, nine Xavier men will be participating in the annual Mr. Muskie Pageant, sponsored by the Student Activities Council (SAC). The contestants consist of freshman Seth Hernandez, sophomores Joe Caputi, CJ Montante, Jake Haigis, Josiah Wright and Matthew Kehling, juniors Blake Quaiyoom, Carl Bou-Abboud and Nate O’Brien. These contestants were the few chosen among all the applications SAC received. Each contestant must model a formal wear ensemble, a swimwear outfit and choose one talent to share with the audience.
