Guitarist Grisha Goryachev, like Bespalko, is a Russian native. Bespalko described his music as “fiery” and an appropriate finale to the guitar series of the overarching music sequence. Dr. Polina Bespalko, a music professor and the director of the Series, opened up the stage by introducing The Four Freshmen, a swing and jazz group that has been together since 1948 with rotating members. The Music Series will host Brian Newman and his quintet along with The Nati’ 6 led by Dan Karlsberg On Jan. 24. CET will be in attendance recording the show for television.
