Mr. Punxsutawney Phil is the world’s most famous groundhog. He has been around predicting weather on Feb. 2 for the past 139 years. He single handedly makes or breaks the United States’ mood by grabbing onto one of two scrolls. This handsome fellow knows how to break a lot of hearts. He saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of winter.
Other than breaking this country’s heart, does Phil break the hearts of other groundhogs? Phil is quite dashing, which leads me to believe he will have a lover by Valentine’s Day. In case he doesn’t, I have made a list of potential lovers for Phil:
- Blue Blob
This doesn’t necessarily have to be a romantic relationship, but I do believe Blob and Phil would get along. They both enjoy the simple pleasures in life, such as walking around in the grass, saying hello to humans and rolling around on the ground. I imagine they would spend their time on Valentine’s Day hanging out together at Dave and Buster’s, playing arcade games to win enough tickets to get RC cars to race each other with.
- Lola Bunny
Ooh la la… is what Phil would say if Lola was his valentine. I believe this relationship would be hot and heavy. Phil would take Lola out to a 5-star dinner, put flowers behind her ear and buy her chocolates. He would do anything he could to impress Lola because he knows she is way out of his league. At the end of the night, he would get a kiss on the cheek for his efforts – but nothing more.
- Garfield
Garfield and Phil are a chill duo. Their date would consist of reclining and watching TV. They would put on an action movie and laugh when the bad guys get killed. Of course, they would stuff their faces with lasagna for dinner and top it off with some carrot cake to satisfy Phil’s diet. Eventually, they would fall into a food coma in their chairs with food left unchewed in their mouths.
- Moo Deng
Moo Deng and Phil would be the most star-studded couple of all. This date would receive media coverage from all over the world as journalists eagerly seek an opportunity to interview this unexpected pair. The date would be in a gazebo lined with flowers and candles dispersed on a table for the two. Moo Deng and Phil would discuss politics (Moo Deng seems to have many opinions), types of grass and who will win the Super Bowl. It would be a beautiful date under the night sky.
So, Phil, the ball is in your court. You have lots of amazing options on the table… choose wisely!
