Students compete in College Movie Festival

By: Emily Lingenfelter ~Staff Writer~ February’s Crosstown Shootout is not the only rivalry occurring in the Cincinnati area. Three teams of Xavier undergraduate students have enrolled in the annual College Movie Festival (CMF), a rigorous competition between academic filmmakers around the tri-state area. This year marks the 10th anniversary, and the CMF is celebrating with a record attendance. Twenty-seven undergraduate and alumni groups are currently in the process of producing original, short films within a framework of two weeks. Ferguson: seeking solutions

Body cameras would help police, civilians On Aug. 9, Michael Brown was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson. Wilson was not charged with any crimes. Protests turned to riots in Ferguson, Mo., and those riots were met by a heavily militarized police force. On Nov. 24, a grand jury decided that there was not sufficient physical evidence to disprove Wilson’s plea of self-defense. The protests continued. Ebola panic spreads

But Americans’ concern is selective I am not a germophobe. You can cough on me, and I probably won’t even flinch. I do not believe in hand sanitizer. I do not always wipe down equipment at the gym. I also am not a hypochondriac. I am someone who, while coughing and sneezing, still makes it to her 8:30 a.m. classes.
