XU pauses group fitness classes

Students start web petition to restart program amid university hiring freeze By Molly Hulligan and Ryan Breece, Head Copy Editor and Guest Writer Group fitness classes at the Health United Building (HUB) were paused indefinitely in a new move made by administration at the beginning of the fall semester.  With this decision, 23 students lost their jobs as group fitness instructors.  Group fitness classes provided a space for students to attend specific fitness programs led by a student instructor who specialized in that exercise. Volleyball dominates Buffalo All-Tournament to start season

By Molly Hulligan, Head Copy Editor Xavier women’s volleyball returned from the Buffalo All-Tournament last weekend with a 3-0 undefeated start to the season.  The Musketeers went up against the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Blazers, the Cleveland State Vikings, and the University at Buffalo Bulls in the tournament hosted by Buffalo.  Xavier had a rough start against UAB in their first match on Friday, losing the first set 11-25.
