By: Meredith Francis ~Campus News Editor~ Blizzard hits Northeastern United States Parts of New England are buried under snow after a large blizzard hit the region on Jan. 26. Though New York and New Jersey were not impacted as much as forecasts predicted, certain states were still hit hard. The National Weather Services reported that Massachusetts had received up to 30 inches of snow, while 16 inches fell in Maine and 21 inches fell in New Hampshire. Parts of Massachusetts are also flooded, while many in the region have lost power. The President’s speech touched on various domestic and international issues, such as cyber security, climate change, economic growth and the conflict with ISIS. Obama devoted much of his speech to economic issues and encouraged Congress to adopt policies that would ease financial struggles of the middle class. By: Meredith Francis ~Campus News Editor~ Two Israeli soldiers killed, two injured in stabbings An Israeli soldier was stabbed and killed in Tel Aviv in the first of four stabbings of Israeli soldiers on Nov. 10. One of the three other soldiers was a 24-year-old woman who also died of her wounds. Israeli police officials are calling the attackers “terrorists.” These incidents come amidst lingering tension between Israelis and Palestinians and growing conflict between Fatah and Hamas, two Palestinian factions that control the West Bank and Gaza, respectively.
