This year’s E3 video game conference announced some of the most anticipated titles for the remainder of 2013-14.
“Kingdom Hearts III” (Square Enix/Disney)
After almost eight years of waiting, fans of “Kingdom Hearts” rejoiced with the announcement of the third installment of the story of Sora, Donald, Goofy and various other Disney characters.
The “Kingdom Hearts” franchise is one of the most popular video game series, having over seven games that take place between “Kingdom Hearts I,” “Kingdom Hearts II” and finally, “Kingdom Hearts III.”
The game will be a PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive and the release date is TBA.
“Watch Dogs” (Ubisoft)
The game was originally shown to be a technology stealth-based game in which the main character has the ability to hack other forms of technology right from his smart phone.
At this year’s E3, Ubisoft showed off some other aspects of the game including stealing funds from ATMs, causing power outages to make for a quick escape and gathering personal information on targets to make more efficient decisions.
“Watch Dogs” is set to come out for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the WiiU. Its release date is set for Nov. 19, 2013.
“Star Wars Battlefront” (Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment)
Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE) is bringing the series back with what was hinted at a new third-person shooter.
The teaser trailer shown at E3 certainly left fans itching for more and as the new year draws closer, more and more information about the game continues to be released
“NBA Live 14” and “NHL 14” (Entertainment America)
Longtime fans of the sports genre will have the chance to take their love of these sports to the next level with updated movement technology and improved gameplay.
“NFL 14” is set to be released in September of 2013 while “NBA Live 14” will be released in the fourth quarter of 2014.
“Titanfall” (Entertainment America)
“Titanfall” took E3 2013 by storm. Not only did it win best in show for GameSpot and IGN but it was also announced as one of the few games that will be Xbox One specific.
This tactical shooter brings in elements of games such as “Call of Duty” and “Halo” but also incorporates giant fighting robots. The game is set to be released in the first quarter of 2014.
For all you dedicated gamers out there, it’s time to realize that we’ve got it good.
