After the team only won five games last season, the women’s basketball team is already halfway to topping last year’s record. New season, new players for men’s team

By Ben Dickison, Staff Writer Sean Miller is back and the buzz is palpable at 3800 Victory Parkway. Miller’s arrival coincides with the arrival of three highly-touted newcomers to this year’s men’s basketball roster. One of these newcomers is Texas-El Paso transfer Souley Boum, who ranked second in Conference USA in scoring this past season.  He is regarded as one of the “top 30 impact transfers” by college basketball reporter and insider Jon Rothstein of CollegeHoopsToday.com and CBS Sports. Men’s basketball has dominant performance vs. Montana

By Spencer Tracy, Staff Writer The Montana Grizzlies arrived at the Cintas Center last Friday night with hopes of securing their first win and improving off their 28-point loss to Duquesne. Xavier finds themselves off to a comfortable start to their season after an overpowering home win over Morgan State last Monday.   The biggest adjustments needed by the court were limiting turnovers after committing 20 against Morgan State.
